Frank Gelman
Senior Consultant
For over twenty-five years, Frank Gelman has been a public relations, marketing communications and promotions specialist. He has worked on campaigns for media and tech clients, consumer products, and service industries.
Gelman was the COO for The Rasky/Baerlein Group’s New York office for over seven years and has consulted to numerous marketing firms and individual companies.
Prior to joining The Rasky/Baerlein Group, Gelman operated his own public relations firm, Frank Gelman Public Strategies. His clients included intimate apparel manufacturer Lily of France, Golf for Women magazine, United Baseball (minor league baseball) and Villas of Distinction. Gelman was also a partner of David Kruter Associates, a promotion and public relations agency specializing in travel. Clients of Kruter Associates included Pan American Airlines, Resorts International Casino & Hotels and The Travel Show (NY-based radio program).
Frank brings a roll-up-the-sleeves approach to planning strategy and media relations, “The only publicity that really counts is the publicity that serves the goals of the client,” adding, “Positioning a client and advising what direction they should go takes experience and judgment, and that is what the client pays for.”
Gelman was an advisory board member of the Women's Sports Foundation for over ten years and a trustee and board secretary of the Arthur Ashe Athletic Association. He has served as on the Board of Overseers at his alma mater Emerson College in Boston and is presently the Vice President of the New York Emerson Alumni Club. He was a member of the executive committee of the Brooklyn Sports Foundation, former treasurer of the New York board for the "Race for the Cure" and is on the board of directors of Greater Community Through Legal Lives.
